ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Afghanistan Vs Sri Lanka, Match 7: Sri Lanka win by 34 runs (DLS Method)

Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by 34 runs on the basis of the DLS rule in the rain-affected match on Tuesday, thanks to the fine batting of Kusal Perera (78) and bowling Nuwan Pradeep (4 wickets) and Lasith Malinga (3 wickets).

Batting first, losing the toss, Sri Lanka scored 201 runs in 41 overs. In reply, the entire team of Afghanistan got reduced to 152 runs and lost the match. Nuwan Pradeep was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding performance from Sri Lanka.

This is the first win of the Sri Lankan team in the tournament, while Afghanistan has to face defeat in the second match. Earlier, Afghanistan had to face Australia by 7 wickets in the match. At the same time, while Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by 10 wickets in the first match.
