New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by 21 runs in the second one-dayer played at Mount Mounangui and won the second win. Thanks to the impressive innings of Ross Taylor (90), the Kiwi team has captured the three-match ODI series 2-0. 

Now the third one-day between the two teams will be played on January 8. Man of the Match was selected in this match to perform in the favor of Thesara Perera. He scored an aggressive 140 off 74 balls with eight fours and 13 sixes.

Batting first, winning the toss, New Zealand made 319 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. In reply, the whole team of Sri Lanka was all out for 298 runs.
