South Africa tour of India, 2019: Team India Squad For 3 Tests Against South Africa

The Indian team was announced for the three-match Test series against South Africa starting on October 2. KL Rahul is not named in Team India's 15-member squad, while Rohit Sharma has returned. Shubman Gill was included in the Test team for the first time.

The selection committee headed by MSK Prasad has given a chance to young player Shubman Gill. KL Rahul has been shown the way out of the team. Meaning, after T20 and ODI, Rohit Sharma will show his power as an opener in Tests too. Rohit was also a part of the Test team against the West Indies, but he was not included in the playing XI.

After the T20 series, the teams of India and South Africa will play a three-match Test series under the World Test Championship. The first match of the Test series will be played in Visakhapatnam from 2 October, the second in Pune from 10 October and the third in Ranchi from 19 October.
