Earlier, India decided to bat first before winning the toss and even after Smriti Mandhana's good batting (34) got reduced to 112 runs in 19.3 overs.
Smriti added 43 runs for the first wicket with Taniya Bhatia (11). Sophie Ecclestone gave India the first blow when she lied to her own ball. Smriti scored 34 runs in 23 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Heather Knight hunted Bhatia. After this, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues pushed the innings forward. Jemimah Rodrigues scored 26 runs and ran out to steal the second run.
