Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians in a super over on Monday to register their second win in three matches. Earlier, the match was tied at the peak of the thrill. Bangalore had earlier scored 201 for three wickets thanks to the batting invitation Aaron Finch (52), Devdutt Padikkal (54) and AB de Villiers (55 *).
After the match, Kohli explained why he came to bat with AB de Villiers in the Super Over. He also praised young pacer Navdeep Saini for his superb bowling in the super over. The fast bowler conceded only 7 runs in the super over. Apart from this, the RCB captain also explained where the team needs to improve.
Kohli said that he came to bat with AB de Villiers in the super over because we are the best in taking two runs. I felt Jasprit Bumrah would bowl and use long boundaries. During this time I thought who are the best people, who can run two runs easily. It was Manch and Abby.
Kohli said after the match that Saini bowled brilliantly in the super over against Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard. I think having the boundary long helped him gain confidence to do the yorker, as he has the pace and was using the wide yorker well.
